About Paul
Since 2019, my journey into blacksmithing has been marked by significant milestones. From attaining a level 3 Btec in blacksmithing from WCG to sharing my knowledge with others, displaying my creations at various shows and festivals, and establishing connections with a multitude of talented smiths and artists, my passion for this ancient craft has only grown stronger. What captivates me most about blacksmithing is the intriguing duality of steel—it is pliable when hot, yet unyielding when cooled. This characteristic demands both precision and artistic flair, making each project a fascinating endeavor.
In my work, I am drawn to the mesmerizing transformation process that occurs as steel changes colors when subjected to heat. This metamorphosis unlocks a realm of endless possibilities, allowing me to explore a rich spectrum of textures, hues, and finishes in my craft. I am constantly inspired by the exploration of unconventional themes within blacksmithing. Whether it involves delving into alternative techniques within the craft, sharing stories passed down through generations, or creating seemingly impossible forms, I find joy in pushing the boundaries of what is considered normal.
Embracing the abnormal is where I thrive, be it through experimenting with unique blacksmithing methods or crafting narratives that challenge convention. I am deeply passionate about infusing a sense of innovation and creativity into my work, constantly seeking to defy expectations and explore new horizons within the realm of blacksmithing. By immersing myself in the unconventional aspects of this craft, I am able to weave together tradition and innovation to create truly remarkable pieces that resonate with both history and vision.
